Acknowledgment

This one or two-page preliminary section of the paper which identifies all the persons, entities and agencies which had provided support in the conduct and the writing of the research. Follow the format of the body of text. The names of the persons and agencies should be in bold. Divide the write-up of the acknowledgment into logical parts (either by person/agency, or per type of help provided).

Make sure that you include all stakeholders who have supported you in the research, especially in terms of financing and directing the study. Here is a list of common stakeholders mentioned in acknowledgment sections in theses/dissertations:

·      Funders/funding agency

·      Research adviser

·      Defense/validation panel members

·      Research assistants and the rest of the research team

·      Administrators and staff of the research locale

·      Dean, chairperson and other administrators

·      Participants of the study

·      Family, relatives and loved ones

·      Friends

·      Colleagues

·      Teachers during the didactic phase of the degree

·      Other people/entities/agencies supported the research in one way or another

·      God
